Current funding & Construction plans

The very first donation was a good omen. So far, the Village Children Fund has received 61,850 US dollars of cash donations from the international public.  Adding my own donation of 15,000 US dollars (against the royalties of my memoir), the current VVCF's revenues have now reached 76, 850 US dollars.

When the financial news reached the village, nobody believed it and thought it was a big joke. The announcement arrived at lunch time and some people were so shocked that they stopped eating. Most of them are still skeptical.

A meeting was held between members of the Fund and the village's residents yesterday. They voted for the first kindergarten in Hamlet 5 and a new elementary school in Hamlet 4. The residents wanted to name the kindergarten after me. I thought of something far more significant than an individual, and promised to come up with a name soon. The new elementary school will be named after the village, like the current building.

Architectural drawings of the two buildings will arrive shortly. Also the estimated costs.

The village's residents and all members of the Village Children Fund feel deeply grateful to our generous donors.
